It is now 7 weeks since I had a vaginal hysterectomy with anterior repair at Ashtead Hospital and I wanted to post a review as I was so very well cared for by Miss Katy Ammar. I found Miss Ammar to be warm and friendly but also very professional. She put me at my ease in what can be quite an uncomfortable situation in the consulting room. I had every confidence in her after our consultation, although I was initially apprehensive, particularly about my recovery. She was very reassuring and listened to my concerns, and she gave me time to make up my own mind about whether or not to go ahead. I did not feel pressured into a decision. She visited me soon after the op and on the following day and advised that the operation had gone well with very little bleeding, which I put down to her skill. I had no bleeding afterwards, no significant pain, and no sense of having been ‘bashed about’. I have continued to recover well at home and I give all the credit to Miss Ammar; she signed me off at five weeks and said she was pleased with the result. I am very pleased too and can honestly say that something I had been dreading turned out to be a very positive experience, thanks to her care and commitment.

Met Dr Ammar briefly for a complicated coil change at Leatherhead Hospital. She was professional, thorough and calm, getting the job done. Support at LHD hospital was amazing, everybody was lovely and so helpful. Unpleasant and painful issue, but happy to have been in good hands.

Due to a worsening prolapse I was referred to Miss Ammar who recommended and performed a vaginal hysterectomy and anterior repair at Ashtead hospital. This was done in June this year only four weeks after the initial assessment and I was very fortunate to have such an approachable and conscientious consultant who was both reassuring and professional. Her manner was so personable that it put me at my ease. The aftercare was impressive too, with a visit from Miss Ammar both before the surgery and the following day. She was particularly helpful in that she made herself available for a follow up call by phone and an early review appointment which demonstrated a great deal of care for her patient and efficiency.

Thank you very much Dr Amar, after moving from Hospital to hospital at last i found a doctor who listen deals with every single worry and query ..given patient her full attention Dr Amar has a very good ethics and respect for patients and have strong and wide amount of information she is very knowledgeable and very confident in dealing with her anxious patients, i felt much relax more aware of my condition and my options of management from the first consultation she was very sympathetic with me at the same time she enlighten me about my condition and explained in details my plan of management . She explained everything in great detail and helped me feel very at ease about the procedure and what complications may happen.
